  • 500g basmathi rice, soaked 20 mins & drained
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2cm ginger, sliced
  • 5cm cinnamon stick
  • 2 star anise
  • 4 cardamoms
  • 4 tbsp Kimball Tomato Puree
  • 425ml Kimball Tomato Soup
  • 500ml water salt, to taste
  • For Garnishing
  • Roasted cashew nuts
  • Crispy-fried shallot
  • Coriander leaves


  1. Heat ghee, sauté onion, ginger, cinnamon stick, star anise and cardamoms until fragrant.
  2. Add rice, stir for 1 minute. Mix in Kimball Tomato Puree, Kimball Tomato Soup, water and salt.
  3. When the rice is cooked, garnish with ingredients for garnishing and serve.
