Ingredients

  • 1.2kg chicken, cut into 5cm pieces
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 2 onions, thickly sliced

  • Mixture A (Grind into fine paste)
  • 5 red chillies, sliced
  • 6 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 4cm ginger, sliced
  • ¼ cup water

  • Mixture B
  • 240ml Kimball Bijan 3 Rasa Sauce
  • ½ cup Kimball Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup water

METHOD

  1. Season chicken with salt and turmeric. Heat oil in a wok over medium heat and fry chicken in batches until golden brown. Remove chicken and set aside.
  2. Spoon out oil, leaving only ⅓ cup in the wok. Cook onion rings in the remaining oil until wilted. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add Mixture A to the wok and fry on low heat for 10 minutes, or until fragrant. Add Mixture B and bring to the boil. Next, add chicken and cook on medium-low heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Add onions and cook for another 5 minutes.
